M. Miller, Houston TX - Karen,  My 13 year old daughter and I read your book and we both enjoyed it. I started reading the book and put it down. I assumed I misplaced it. The next day my daughter informed me that she had 20 pages left. My wife is currently reading it. I particularly was impressed with your character development and the way you utilized the foreshadowing technique. The English Department implemented that each incoming freshman be required to read one novel. I am going to assign the novel for my class this year and I am going to suggest the novel for the incoming freshmen in the fall of 2011.

A. Cottonham, Houston, TX - This novel presents a fun and interesting story to the reader. "If the Tree Could Talk (Oh the Stories It Would Tell)" is full of dynamic & realistic characters. It takes a while for the action to start, (because you have to get to know the setting, characters, etc) but once it starts, you won't be able to put it down!!!

S. Lovelady, Houston, TX - Karen, you were right!!! This book was REALLY good!!! I would have finished it one sitting, but I thought I better show my family some attention!! This book took me back to my childhood days and some of the things I used to say under my breath!!!! TOO FUNNY!!!!!  Waiting on the next one!!

Minister S. Robinson-Shorts, Houston, TX -
Karen,
I read your book in one day and it was truly amazing. May God continue to bless you in all of your endeavors. My Prayer to you always.

G. Cottonham, Houston, TX - I truly enjoyed the book. It was a great read. It moved very smoothly. I must admit that I feel a little sorry for Dasie, I guess its because I see a little bit of her in me. Mind you, I said a little bit. Anyway, hopefully she will be able to move on and learn something from the mess she caused. I can't wait to read your next book. Keep it coming. Love Ya.

B. Brown, Omaha, NB - I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Sweetie was so cute. But Dasie...my, my, my she was lucky to walk away without a scratch from Ronnie Faye! LOL! This book made me laugh out loud a couple of times.

B. Player, Houston, TX - I really enjoyed reading this book. I thought the story was an excellent one. It was wonderfully written and I look forward to the author's next work.

M. Sampson, Houston, TX - I loved your book.  From the first sentence I was captivated.  The plot was filled with sub-plots that kept and held my interest throughout the book.  It was well-planned.  I knew the green eyes were very important from the beginning.  No boring moments at all.  My intrigue was maintained throughout and until the closing statement.  The characters were so believable and their individuality was outstanding.  My hat is off to you.  Keep it up!

A. Holcombe, Houston TX - This book was an excellent read. All the ingredients of a drama! I loved the way Sweetie instigated a lot, at least until the tables turned on the poor girl. But what I loved most was what all women dream of. Finding that fairy tale lost love from years ago, enjoy! Great read and be blessed !

S. Nealy, Houston, TX - Hi Karen, I read your book and I really enjoyed it. I love to read and have read many books. Not sure if this is the first book you have written, but if it is…WOW! Your writing will only escalate from here. Congratulations Girl!

C. Peoples, Bienville, LA - The book was a wonderful mixture of mystery of black legend. How many of us spent evenings in the yard "under the tree"? There is so much of each of us in the various family members and the black family is portrayed in a very real and positive way. Sweetie Pie is such an enduring little character and the author captured her age and youth perfectly. There were times when I simply laughed out loud! I did not want the story to end. This is a very good book and one I think the young and the old can enjoy.

R. Marks, Detroit, MI - I truly enjoyed reading the book; it is such an easy read that made me laugh and cry. Reading the book I could visualize the characters. Good job; I can't wait until the next book is out.

L. Sterling, Houston, TX - Excellent job. This really kept my attention, I could not put it down. It flowed so well, a good read. Who knew you had it in you girl. Keep up the good work.

L. Donaldson, Houston, TX - WOW! I enjoyed this book! I know their has to be a part 2. I was surprised Dasie made it out of the Hotel alive. Ronnie Faye is a good Christian woman, had it been me, and crazy showed up at my door...talk about smoke in the city! I cannot wait for the next book.
Karen you got skills!!!!!!

D. Singleton, Jonesboro, LA. - Karen, I received your book Saturday and I finished reading it Saturday. I couldn't put it down. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love your style of writing. It captured your attention and it was very believable and real. I could actually picture the characters in my mind. Keep up the good work girl!!!!!
